ABOUT
A comprehensive photoshoot of a luxury villa located in Benahavís. The interior design is inspired by the moiré effect, a subtle interplay of light and reflections created by expansive glass surfaces, gently permeating the different areas of the home. At the heart of the residence lies a glass atrium featuring bonsai trees, bringing nature indoors, while the lower level houses an exclusive entertainment zone.
GOAL
The goal was to create a cohesive visual narrative for a large-scale property with a diverse character. The client expected a presentation of the home’s two distinct faces: the calming, bright residential zone and the darker, intimate "Whisky & Bar" area located in the basement.
CHALLENGES
The primary challenge involved the logistics and scale of the property within a strict timeframe. We had only one day to capture all three floors. The basement area, featuring a bar and cinema room, presented an additional difficulty as it was completely devoid of natural light. This required a shift from my standard aesthetic, which typically relies on ambient light.
STRATEGY
To manage the time pressure, we implemented a rigorous selection of frames, focusing on key sightlines and the details that define the home’s style, such as the cabinetry and stone. For the dark bar area in the basement, I adjusted the technical approach. Rather than fighting the lack of windows, we utilized the existing architectural lighting, LEDs and stone backlighting to build a moody, club-like atmosphere. This allowed us to convey the luxury character while maintaining the authenticity of the original lighting design.
RESULTS
The final result is a complete set of photographs that, despite the time constraints, accurately documents the scale and diverse character of the residence. The gallery guides the viewer from the bright living areas to the atmospheric basement interiors, emphasizing the versatility of the project and the quality of materials under various lighting conditions
